Digging Out From a Spam Assault
Posted by Fiacharrey under Personal
I just installed Spam Karma 2, and hopefully that will take care of the problem.
With my first blog, I got two or three spams total, ever. I thought it was cute. I was even proud that some spammer thought it worth their while to post their crap. Now I know better. Spam can absolutley destroy discussions on a blog.
Starting just a few days ago, I was getting a handfull of spam a day, then it got to be several an hour. I honestly didn’t know why they bothered. It’s not like the world is beating a path to my quiet little corner of the Blogosphere here. But now I am beginning to understand the whole “page-rank” thing. The spammers particularly liked an older article about wilderness survival equipment. Go figure.

“82 Spams eaten and counting.” Sweet! Not a single one got through.

Glad to hear your spam free. It happened on a website I used to work for, we never thought we’d get spam, but I found tons of nasty adds hidden in the news comments. Nothing like going to read an article on wicca and finding girl on girl adds - lovely ;).

Someone else below asked this already about antispam scripts.
I am getting nailed with Spam on my website mails and in our blog website - now its offline too
much spam. Is there anyway to stop this? If not, there really isn’t any point in leaving it up
and active. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for help, Keep up the good work. Greetings from Poland
